Those 90's Babies Though!!!!!!! What Ya'll Know About Us?

These past few years roaming through these streets make me wonder what this world is coming to? Maybe it's this new adult thing, or I just miss not having to worry about various responsibilities. Contrary to popular belief, there was such a simpler time before adult hood and no one a had a care free in the world. That time my friends was childhood and these kids today do not have one whatsoever. Forget what you heard. Just because you are a child doesn't mean your living the life a child should. I feel bad for you New Kidds who are accustomed to this politically correct society. Sad just thinking about it. The 90's hands down is the best decade to live in and that includes the early 2000's (2000-2004). Trust me, ya'll don't know what you've missed. New Kidds, take notes. If your not sure if your a new kid, ask yourself the following questions:

1. Do you remember the line up for Cartoon Cartoon Fridays and Toonami Sundays?

2. Finish this lyric, "I wanna be the very best, that no one ever wassssssss (DUH DUH DUH DUH)"

3. Did you and your girlfriends compare your school supplies from Lisa Frank to see whose was better?

If you were stumped after the first question, your just a lost cause. What in the world do you kids know about chasing ice cream trucks (nothing. i never see ya'll play outside. That's why ya'll two pound short from Terio now. SMH) and watching REAL Saturday morning cartoons (who misses Kids WB?) !!

I'll let you suck ya teeth and roll your eyes. That's none of my business if you were born haters. It's all good. Look at what the "2010's" have to offer you:

That's nice. All you can do is be great.

To my fellow Old Kidd's, shed a tear, pour out the Pixie sticks, and just reminisce on the good ol' days.

Transformation Challenge: Nail it or Fail it?

Let me get this straight. You mean to tell me that with some make-up, a blow dryer, or whatever inanimate bathroom objects you can find, I can become my favorite celebrity in less than 4 snapshots? You mean to tell me with some cocoa butter and a flat iron I would end up looking like this gem:

Aww hell, with my luck, it would probably backfire and end up like her:

She looks so mad at the world. Vee's gone so she should be happy now right? I guess we'll find out in Season 3. Ughh June can't come any faster! But anyway....

So I guess that was better left unsaid, but of course Twitter had to expose 'em all!!!!

Twitter gave all unattractive people a reason to dream again. Boys who wanna be girls, girls who wanna be boys, dark skinned girls who wanna be light, and light skinned boys who wanna be dark (YESS LAWWD!!) Of course some of you Tweetheads know that your beloved Twitter doesn't come with a chill button. And unfortunately, it gave ya'll the excuse to act like the ratchet hooligans you are inside. Don't let the shade fool you, some posts nailed it beautifully. Some of these #transformationchallenges should be placed in the Transformers Hall of Fame. Rest of ya'll need to let Jesus take the wheel and get thrown back in Twitter jail (if that still exists anyway). You thought you were Optimus Prime or C Breezy for that matter. Despite my shade, some of ya'll I have to give you props.

I am a big fan of Earl Sweatshirt's music, but not his big ass lips. I hope this girl transformed with some good flow.

I DIED and went to Happily Ever After!!! Then I saw her face................... NOW I'M A BELIEVER!

R&B & Tyler the Creator's Love Child Returns?

Praise the God who brought Frankie back into my life. Hope I don't go to hell for saying that? Then again, whose to say hell exists. I guess it's just a bad religion.

For those know the COK, she loves herself some Christopher Francis Breaux, Frank Ocean to you. But after Channel Orange, little Francis disappeared and apparently, turned his hair blue. That's a game changer isn't it? Nonetheless, I always loved this man's work and telling by this leaked album cover, he's coming back better than before. Hope to hear some of Ace, Super 3, and Earl in this new project.

BREAKING NEWS: Robin Williams Dead at Age 63. Man What a loss

"I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone, it's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people that make you feel all alone." - Robin Williams

I hate when celebrities I grew up with just suddenly die on us, and not to speak ill of the dead, but Robin Williams, you left America and what's left of the funny world in tears. Considering my age, I know Robin as the actor and not the stand up comedian, but that didn't stop me from realizing how hilarious the man was. I mean the man had a long list of classics under his belt.

Speaking for us 90's babies, I must be the one to say that Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji will forever be the s**t and will forever be comedic gold!

Comedian and actor, Robin Williams died today at the age of 63, and finding out about a death through Twitter feeds reading R.I.P, you know something is up and a whole community was in mourning over someone of great importance. And plus when I noticed the trending topics list was filled with Robin Williams' movies, I didn't want to believe it. Man this seriously sucks.. I can't find the words to describe my anger. One of the GREATEST actors who ever lived!

According to CNN reports: "Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made."

Now suicide is the last cause of death I can picture for Robin Williams.................................... just hope it's not true.

I am completely heartbroken, more so than unhappy to hear that a funny and caring man left us without a trace of understanding of what was going in his last moments of life. Whether suicide or not, you have to sympathize with a man who made the world the laugh on the outside, and realize he was suffering on the inside. Just to show that the ones who spread happiness, are the unhappiest.

I mentioned Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji as some of my favorites during my youth, but those two and even Aladdin, Hook, and Jack can't compare to Dead Poet's Society. "Oh Captain, My Captain!!!!!!!" I will be shouting that infamous quote for the rest of my days. Such a classic piece of work - both the movie and Robin. On the plus side, what other actor do you know made a great impression of a hot dog? LOL

It's going to take me a while to get over Robin's death because that man was truly amazing, and quite frankly, quite irreplaceable. I am in deep mourning over a man I never knew, but I wish I did. Right now, I'm gonna search through Netflix and watch Jumanji. Nostalgia calls.

Financial Aid: Why You No Like Us????

Summer is almost over and school is right around the corner. Unfortunately, I am ill-prepared than last year due to some demons I along with a majority of my peers have been battling out these past few months, and we've all been beaten to the last punch.

I really try not to get completely personal with these topics and not to throw any names out there but if you think the increasing demographic of college dropouts due to money is to blame on the government, then your claim is far from the truth.

Oh don't get me wrong, we all have our hatred against the F-A-F-S-A (pronounced F-A-S-F-A, but the mispronunciation reveals our lack of respect and care), but like I said, who really cares? I'm in need of my education, thanks.

Getting a college education is already a struggle enough with classes and sticking to the status quo, but it's not worth my time knowing that money is funny and my mother can't afford to throw it around left and right all because my EFC wasn't 0.00.

And why in the world does Fassfaaa have a Twitter page, anyway? That's an easy target in my opinion for certain adversaries. Then again, they're probably the ones who didn't get any money either. But I'm thankful for my financial aid though. ;-)

And to make matters worse, from the government, comes the school. And contrary to popular belief, it is the school's fault. Well, depends on who your talking about.

Did you have a falling-out with your school's financial aid department before classes even started? And all of this could have been easily avoided if those people answered their phone over the summer. Any questions about my financial aid and other pressing matters could've been easily handled with a simple phone call, but noooooooooo! FA officials thrive on tending to a packed office full of broken hearted, teary-eyed college students who don't know if they should call their parents to pick them up. Trust me, most of those faces don't come out like this:

But more like this...

I can go on, and on, AND ON about the trials and tribulations of the financial aid office, but the motive is clear that college employees need to do better, or else some of us wouldn't still be at mom's house flipping burgers because "I didn't get enough money" was the excuse.

Believe it or not, we college kids appreciate our basic residence halls and the edible, not your mama's cafeteria food. I mean who are they to deprive us of that life enriching experience??

I know it is the summer time, and you all believe you have less of job to do with no students around, but you're not making your jobs any easier and our blood pressures any lower. As much as we complain during the year, we actually miss school during the summer, so don't be petty and try to take that away from us. And one more note to the F-A-F-S-A,

My mother's bills didn't stop when I left for school........

Untitled.....

It's 15:30 blasting "Every Little Step" by Bobby Brown. What does the new kid know about that LOL? They probably just know of Being Bobby Brown.  Anywho, this has no set topic. I'm just rambling on through the thoughts an ideas that lie scrambled through my brain. Here I am sitting in my basement, lights off, everyone sleeping, including my best friend who is probably dreaming about her something special :). Nonetheless, I cant seem to put a finger on what I want to discuss. Not to sound too melodramatic but that's how it comes out.

Ever imagine yourself being something being bigger than yourself? A persona that is better and more realistic than the person you are right now? I want that. I want to be more than just a basic, nonexistent person that no one would take a second glance at. My imagination always helps me seek who I want to become and who I'd take with me. Like I can be sitting in front of the TV, and I'll watch the BET Awards or the Grammy's. Like that's me up there presenting. That's me up there giving a knockout performance like it's 1990. That's me winning all the awards, hoping that I won best new artist over August Alsina, winning best female rap artist just SHUTTING DOWN Nicki Minaj and that bubble she calls an ass, and maybe just beating BeyoncĂ© is asking for too much, but I can dream :D

Spike Lee can see me one day, because that's a man I see myself becoming, just in female form. Like he is so damn underrated it makes no sense. Like this world is so lucky my ideas can't be put on paper right now. They are not ready for this reality check I'm ready to sign and cash! YOU KNOW WHAT? Considering this politically correct world we live in today, I do think it would be needed, but not allowed. #SOCIETYSUCKS

blogging < vlogging: that's probably what the new kid wants

This pretty much explains my fear of blogging in the first place. This generation  does not see any reason to read anything these days. Oh trust, they'll start reading those facebook posts; they'll read those twitter feeds, and they'll read those 4 word instagram posts before laying their hands on a book. Only time the book is picked up is after a movie adaption is released (i.e. Harry Potter, The Great Gatsby, The Fault in Our Stars, Twilight..... yeah you get the point). So what was the whole point in reaching out to the new kid, if I knew that he or she wouldn't bother reading what I had to say?

I'm personally in between the two: the old kid who loves to read and the new kid who doesn't know the fun in reading. The ones that don't read, and when I say read, and I don't mean the aforementioned stuff, I mean reading an article out of the newspaper or even a blog post that can possibly enrich the mind. I don't know what it is about these kids today. They must be afraid of pronouncing big words or just having reality smacking them in the face. Who will ever know. The new kid feels entitled not having to explain and prove anything to anyone. Maybe it's the school system. Summer reading assignments are just a thing of the past but I digress.

YouTube videos pretty much took over the mass communications playing field. New information, new entertainment, and other sorts of stuff on the video screen pretty much grabbed attention better than words on a piece of paper. So I'm like cool, why don't I start a YouTube channel! What am I gonna talk about? Who am I gonna make them with? Am I gonna be funny or serious? All this stuff came about, but I never had the nerve to sit  down in front of the camera. I'm that insecure, even though people aren't physically watching me, the thought of people looking at me for 3+ minutes was just nerve wrecking. So I'm like f*** it. I'll be the old head and stick to what I know. Words are still powerful whether you know it or not.

The whole vlogging idea came about when I started college. My love for vloggers started back in the early months of 2009, when I discovered Maurice "Kain" Carter (+hotdamnirock) and Kingsley (+Kingsley). Those two niggas were the funniest dudes I've even seen, espeicially Kain. I was plotting on becoming the female version of him and putting his ass in place! Don't get me wrong, his videos are forever true and to the point but who am I to go toe-to-toe with a grown ass man? AND he's from Baltimore? F*** outta here! As far as Kingsley was concerned, I loved his "innocence",
and not necessarily the complete sense of the word. His exuberant charisma pretty much put a smile on my face (which is rare) and since he plans on stopping his vlogs at the end of the year, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to take over. But then I realized that no one can top what Kingsley, Kain Carter, or even Tre Melvin (+ThisIsACommentary) did to the industry. That's just probably not me.

If I have any purpose in life, maybe getting the new kid to read again could be a goal. Just maybe, I can show them the words have power after all. I'm telling you, if I learned anything after my first year in college other than twerking or the school alma mater, I learned that their is power in words if you know how to use them wisely and correctly. Just think of all the possibilities, ya know? Just think..........
